Tutoring Support

Tutors support students in a number of ways which include academic, professional and career advice, and pastoral support.

Council Tax Exemption Letter

The College provides Council Tax Exemption Letter to the eligible students. They need to complete a Council Tax Exemption form which is available at the College admin.

Library, VLE And Electronic Resources

LSCI has a functional library for its students. The Library has adequate text books for all courses. Students are also provided lecture slides and notes via Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). The tutors also encourage students carrying out online academic research to reinforce their learning.

Helpdesk

The Helpdesk staff will assist students when facing problems such as logging on to the College network, printing and related issues. The Helpdesk can also assist disabled students with getting from the ground floor by using the lift and directing to the relevant classroom.

Photocopying

A dedicated photocopier is available for the students in the College reception. Students are allowed to photocopy their course/study materials and relevant pages from their text books (within lawfully permitted limits) at a rate of 5 pence per A4 page.

Request For References

From time to time students may require academic references from LSCI to apply to other organisations for academic or career purposes. The Admin staff will help the student get the required reference after receiving a formal request for it.

Financial Support

As a small private College, LSCI is not in a position to provide direct financial support/bursary to its students. However, it provides useful advice on fee payments and potential source of funds such as Student Loan Company (SLC). IAG Support

The College provides Information, Advice and Guidance to all potential and existing students. This helps the students to build their self esteem, confidence, and understanding in order make informed decision for their choice. Making an informed decision in choosing your course of study is a very important step in future education. LSCI supports students in every step in this process. Students may contact us through telephone or emails and gain the benefit of our support services. Our admin staff will guide students in selecting the right course to match their aspirations and provide them all the information that they may require to take an informed decision, irrespective of whether they decided to join LSCI or not.

Cafeteria/kitchen Facilities

The College have a dedicated Cafeteria on the ground floor operated by an external agency which is open every day from morning till the evening providing fresh and delicious hot food, soft and cold drink etc. In addition, there are kitchen areas available both on the first floor and second floor with hot/cold water dispenser, Microwave Oven, Washing sink. Besides these indoor facilities, there are a number of cafes and restaurants in the close proximity of the College which are helpful for students and staff needs.
