How the qualification is assessed?

Assessment is the process of measuring a learner’s skill, knowledge and understanding against the standards set in a qualification. The learners are Internally assessed and externally quality assured portfolio of evidence, including task-based controlled assessments.

Method of Assessment

Learners must have completed all assessment components to gain the NCFE Level 4 Diploma: Data Analyst (603/7751/3).

The assessment consists of an internally assessed portfolio of evidence, including task-based controlled assessments, which is assessed and internally quality assured by centre staff.

All the evidence generated by the learner will be assessed against the standards expected of a level 4 learner.

Finally, the external quality assurance is done by the external quality assurer of NCFE.

Each unit of the qualification is graded using a structure of not yet achieved, pass, merit or distinction. A result that does not achieve a pass grade will be graded as a ‘not yet achieved’. Learners will have the opportunity to re-submit their referred assignments.

Resubmission

Learners are only permitted one resubmission of internally assessed work, who fail a component at the first attempt. In these circumstances, learners can only achieve a pass grade for the relevant components.
