Student Union

Student Union

At LSCI currently we do not have student union. However, if any group of our students are interested they can register with National Union of Students (NUS) at  https://www.nus.org.uk/.

In order to facilitate students voice to be heard and ensure students engagement in decision making, we have Student Representatives from each cohort and programme. We believe, this arrangement will ensure positive student engagement with the affairs of the college and make our students as partners in all enhancement activities and students experience at LSCI.

Student Representation

The college will help the students in electing their representatives in a democratic way. The following procedure will be followed in selecting the students representatives each year. The principle of equal opportunity and non discrimination will be strictly applied in the selection process.

Two representatives for each group of 40-50 students will be selected on the basis of highest and second highest number of votes received by them.

The elected representatives from all groups of students will form the Students Representative Committee and elect their President and Vice President from among them.

The college will arrange a formal training for the Students Representatives in order for them to appreciate the role and responsibilities towards the college and students’ welfare.

Each representative will be elected to a term of office to sit on important Committees like Academic Programme Committee, Resource Committee, Quality Enhancement and Assurance Committee etc. for 1 year.

The President and Vice President of the Students Representative will attend Students-Staff Liaison Committee on a regular basis.

Each representative will sign an agreement with the College to indicate their commitment to the role

All student representatives will receive a certificate of appreciation to acknowledge their contribution to the College activities.
